School Re-opening: Over 2000 Anambra Head Teachers Receive Quality Training

In view of the re-opening of schools in Anambra State, over 2000 Head teachers in both Primary and Junior Secondary schools have received quality training to ensure that the COVID-19 safety protocols are strictly adhered to.

This was revealed by Mr. Patrick Ugboaja, the Chairman, Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board during a meeting with the Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Economic Planning, Sustainable Development Goals and Foreign Donor, who paid a courtesy call to the Board in Awka.

Mr. Patrick who addressed the Anambra Lawmakers underscored that the teachers were trained in six centers across the three senatorial districts. In addition, they will be in charge of overseeing the re-opening of over 1000 schools in the State, as they have been equipped with COVID-19 materials and protocols for each of the schools involved.

Furthermore, Mr. Patrick stated that in line with the smooth re-opening of each primary and junior secondary schools across the State, three seater desks, sanitizers, soaps and hand washing buckets with taps have already been provided.

On his part, Honourable Ebele Ejiofor, the Chairman, House Committee on Economic Planning, Sustainable Development Goals and Foreign Donor while extolling the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board for astutely implementing the projects financed by the Universal Basic Education Commission, stated that the committee will visit the field to verify the classroom blocks built and those being trained with Universal Basic Education Commission fund.
