In every election, the variables that lead to winning the hearts of the electorate in most cases cannot be predicted, as different individuals have over the course of life adapted into certain preferences when it comes to shaping their interests. The ability for a political candidate to sell his or her manifesto properly, decides so many outcomes in the elections, for some politicians, apart from a very well structured manifesto, they have mechanisms adopted to lobby votes in their favour.

This leads to situations when bags or rice, garri, sugar, salts and the likes of other consumables are packaged with the candidates face clearly on the bag,Ā  sending a message directly canvassing for votes, whatever mechanism is used, the core purpose of such moves is to win votes in favour of that particular candidate.

While there is a call for more integrity added to the whole process of elections , the journey to the next elections in 2023 seems to have kicked off with different meetings and consultations. It has been reported that PDP Presidential aspirants Bukola Saraki , Atiku Abubakar, Aminu Tambuwal , Bala Muhammed, have been in closed door meetings , while discussing the issues of zoning and planning a consensus candidate for the upcoming elections.

On the other hand, another aspirant , Pius Anyim has added that the party must respect zoning if it wants to win the next elections. While the current Rivers State Governor , Wike , as also declared his interest in running , the PDP say they have a strategy to win positions in the next elections.
