A 27 year old man, Gershon Fuentes, was arrested on Tuesday, and he confessed to sexually abusing child, according to documents filed in Franklin County, Ohio, Municipal Court.
The attorney who represented Gershon at the Wednesday’s hearing did not immediately reply to a request for public comments on Wednesday evening.
The Columbus Dispatch reported that the accusation is related to the incident that President Joe Biden highlighted and that abortion rights supporters used as an illustration of the risks of ending a constitutional right to abortion.
The child’s case began attracting attention after The Indianapolis Star reported that a physician based in Indianapolis who performs abortions called Dr. Caitlin Bernard, disclosed that she had attended to a 10-year-old rape victim.
The doctor said that the child had to travel to Indiana from Ohio, after Ohio’s “fetal heartbeat” law was established some hours after the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe.
