If our motive is to carry everybody along in projects that revolve around health and the general well being of the society, then development will be the landmark in each term of governance. As much as I said earlier that each country must go through its own phase, we may need to really connect the dots and note that the Nigerian democratic scenery is still taking baby steps with very good prospects of becoming a landmark of referrals in the years to come and here is why; there is clearly a paradigm shift from the traditional politicians to a political system that sees technocrats taking up political positions that come via the rigorous phases of elections and it’s own precedents.

While elections are a yardstick for development and growth , the role of checks an balances cannot be overemphasized, as it helps with the required balance needed in the society. While the Nigerian Police is taking intentional steps to address the rising rise of insecurity in the country,Ā  there is a report that a police man has been arrested due to extortion . The police manĀ  attached to the Meiran division in Lagos state, ASP Eyitere Joseph, for extorting N50, 000 from a serving corps member in Lagos.

This evidence was gotten from a video of the officer was demandingĀ  for money from the corps member . The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who was one of the people who saw the video online , further gave an update saying the officer has been arrested and an investigation has kicked off. He further stated that the DPO of Meiran division has also been warned that she will be held accountable if such issues repeat itself.
