President Muhammadu Buhari, Monday, May 22, 2023, commissioned the Dangote Refinery with the aim of propelling Nigeria towards becoming a net exporter of petroleum products.
The Dangote Refinery situated in the Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos is the largest in Africa and owned by the Dangote Group with Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote as its head.
According to the outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari, the establishment of the refinery presents a viable solution to address the ongoing issue of persistent fuel shortages in Nigeria.
