Alcoholic beverage brand Orijin has been unveiled as the official alcoholic beverage sponsor of the Ojude Oba Festival, set to hold on June 8.
The partnership underscores Orijin’s commitment to celebrating African culture and traditions. Known for its rich blend of herbs and fruit, Orijin has consistently positioned itself as a brand that honours the continent’s roots.
The Ojude Oba Festival, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most colourful and culturally significant events, is celebrated annually in Ijebu land to pay homage to the Awujale, the paramount ruler of the Ijebu people. The festival attracts thousands of dignitaries, locals, and tourists from across the world.
Its key highlights include vibrant age-grade processions known as Regberegbe, traditional fashion displays, and a showcase of Yoruba heritage and pride.
Speaking on the sponsorship, Managing Director and CEO of Guinness Nigeria Plc, Girish Sharma, described Orijin as more than just a drink.
“Our mantra ‘My Roots, My Power’ speaks directly to our unwavering belief in the strength of African traditions. Sponsoring Ojude Oba embodies our purpose of celebrating life, every day, everywhere, by bringing people together in honour of shared heritage and identity.
“We’re excited to support this remarkable expression of Nigerian culture and reinforce the values that bind us as a community,” he said.
The sponsorship marks another milestone in Orijin’s efforts to support cultural expressions and festivals that spotlight African identity.
