Months after the announcement made by Queen Naomi on her exit from her marriage to the Ooni of Ife, he welcomes in a new wife. The new wife, Mariam Anako arrived the palace of Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi in Ile- Ife, Osun on Tuesday.
Like the tradition of the people of Ife, the new queen was welcomed with rites and led to the inner court of the palace to see her husband and the other stakeholders that were waiting for her. Oba Adeyeye also posted on his Facebook page
The people who were present in the ceremony include; the elder brother of the Ooni of Ife, Sooko Adegboyega Ogunwusi and his other siblings, the relations of the new wife which came in from Ebira in Kogi and also from Kwara state. Mariam was ushered into the palace 10 months after the ex-wife of the monarch announced that their marriage which involved a son has ended.

She also explained how much she tried to make things work and how unhelpful the monarch was in her endeavors to make the relationship a better one. She also dropped the title of a queen in a video she shared on Instagram in December, 2021. Other Monarchs of the Yorubaland tried to reconcile the Ooni of Ife and his ex-wife, Naomi Silekunola but their efforts were futile.
Mariam Anako happens to be the fourth person Oba Adeyeye will be tying the knot with. He had 3 wives who seperated from him at different points. He was first married to Adebukola Bombata, then Zaynab-Otiti Obanor and also Naomi Silekunola. His marriage with Silekunola lasted about 3 years.
Recently, there have also been wranglings between the monarch and Omolara Olatunbosun who bore him a child as a teenager.
The monarch is not the only one whose divorce his known to the public. Other monarchs in the Yoruba land have also had divorce cases including the Alaafin of Oyo.
