One Dead And Nine Injured In Ondo Motor Accident

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ondo state command, has announced that nine people were injured and a commercial driver died in an accident that involved two vehicles along Ondo-Ore Road on Wednesday.

According to eyewitnesses, the Sienna was coming from the Ondo axis, while the Ā Hummer bus was going to Ore.

The deceased was said to have died instantly before help came from nearby sympathizers who came to rescue victims from the wreck.

The incident was made public by the State Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr. Ezekiel Son Allah, while speaking with Newsmen in Akure.

The commander revealed that the accident involved a Toyota Hiace Bus Marked LND 998 XY and Toyota Previa marked KAA 762BT.

According to SonAllah, there were 30 people involved in the accident, Including 20 male adult, nine female adults and a female child. He added that those involved sustained head injury, fracture and Laceration.

ā€œSix male adults, three female adults injured and one male adult died at the hospital after personnel of FRSC recued the victims. The victims were taken to general hospital and some were taken to FMC Annex, Akure for treatment while the only corpse was deposited at the morgue,ā€ he said.

SonAllah also added that the accident was as a result of excessive speed leading to lose of control. He then admonished all motorist to install speed limit device to check excess speeding.


ā€œWe will continue to appeal to our drivers to always maintain speed limit when they are on wheel and installation of speed limit device is a must for them. Moreover, this is rainy season, motorists must have functional wiper and drive with care because the person that died is a driver who left Ore to Akure this morning,ā€ SonAllah added.
