As part of its effort to equip and empower women with skills, the Okeawele Foundation has empowered over 200 women drawn from the fifteen political wards in Anambra East Local government.

The programme which held at U Square Hotels Limited, according to the organisers was basically aimed at equipping and empowering the beneficiaries with skills that will make them financially independent.

In the words of Hon. Ifeoma Onwudiwe, the Chairperson, Okeawele Foundation who spoke at the event, the beneficiaries were selected from the different political wards in Anambra East Local Government, with the initiative of teaching them on ā€œcosmetologicalā€ instincts and how to prepare multipurpose soap and others.

Furthermore, while encouraging the beneficiaries, Hon. Onwudiwe urged them to engage practically on what they have been taught as they expect their empowerment/Startup kits in the next phase of Okeawele Foundation Program coming up soon.

The key point of the event was the presentation of gifts and a piece of wrapper to all the participants.
