The Federal Government of Nigeria has given the Ofala festival awards in excellence and culture.
The award is in recognition of the outstanding and excellent contributions of Ofala to the development and preservation of Nigeria’s cultural heritage.
The award was made on the occasion of the First United Nations World Tourism Organisation ( UNWTO) global conference on linking tourism, culture, and the creative industries as pathways to recovery and inclusive development, which ends today in Lagos.

The conference which was geared towards development and growth of tourism culture and creative industries had in attendance Nigeria’s Minister of Information, Lai Muhammed. The minister believed the event will foster synergy in the sector on a national scale, with international partners.
The event which ended on Wednesday gathered top-notch panelists and stakeholders to discuss linkages and opportunities between cultural tourism and the creative industries.
The presentation of the award took place at a gala night and command performance during the conference. The Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, and the Secretary General of the UNWTO Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili presented the award to Agbogidi.
