If one is elected as a public office holder, after an election, after enjoying the support of people during the elections, and decides to become very distant afterwards, piling a long list of aides and assistants that in turn, become bosses on their own overnight, the people become forgotten and such elected public office holder enjoys the immunity and attention but for a short period of time before the next elections, and they head back to the streets with bags of salt , garri and other branded items that won’t last a week. Well, if I want to be completely honest, the masses will still campaign vigorously for such a candidate , and can even vote for them during another election but this is the point where reality sets in, after such tenures, even if it is back to back, they actually return back to where they are from, which is, their communities or the residents they built their houses and homes because they can’t be in government forever.
In line with the earlier arrest of the now former Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, there are claims that he misappropriated the sum of 5 Billion Naira Sure-P funds , and 37 Billion Naira security votes. Prior to his arrest, it has been reported that he has been on the EFCC watchlist for sometime.
