Joining the Nigeria Labour Congress in its prospective industrial action commencing on Monday 28th September, 2020, is the National Union of Banks, Insurance, and Financial Institutions Employees (NUBIFIE) which has instructed all its members to comply fully with the directive.
The strike became valid on account of the Federal Government’s reluctance to revert the price of fuel and electricity tariffs back to its previous values.
The directive to join in the proposed industrial action was contained in a correspondence by the National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions Employees signed by its General Secretary, Mohammed I. Sheikh.
Excerpt from the circular reads thus: The National Executive Council (NEC) of Nigeria Labour Congress in their meeting on Tuesday 22nd September, 2020 resolved to embark on nationwide strike as from Monday 28th September, 2020 over hike in the pump price of petrol and Electricity tariff”.
To this end, all the State Directors of NUBIFIE have been urged to comply diligently with the directive.
