In line with the need to implement transformational initiatives in the maritime sector, both the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) are set to collaborate to ensure it becomes a reality.
Dr. Kabir Murnai, NIMASA’s Director, Reform Coordination, and Strategic Management made this known during his visit to the Bureau of Public Service Reforms in Abuja.
According to Dr. Murnai who represented Dr. Bashir Jamoh, the NIMASA Director-General, he noted that the Agency is committed to collaborating with the ongoing initiative. This is given the fact that the importance of efficient and effective Public service to Nigeria’s economic prosperity cannot be overemphasized. To this end, the partnership would be focused on reform initiatives and development research.
Speaking further, Dr. Murnai reiterated that a viable relationship between the two Federal Government agencies was essential for capacity development. His words: “We are here to see how we can connect with BPSR in order to clearly understand and key into government’s specific priorities, while still pursuing the respective mandates and goals of NIMASA. We desire advisory and technical support services for change management teams, to engender an environment of learning within NIMASA.”
On his part, Mr. Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi, the Director of BPSR assured of the Bureau’s commitment to the collaborative agreement for the mutual benefit of the two agencies.
