Nigerian Police Rescue Abducted Child in Anambra

The Nigerian Police Force rescues 11-year-old Muhammed Ya’u approximately five years he was abducted from PRP Quarters in Kano metropolis and taken to Onitsha the business city of Anambra State, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Kano State Police command spokesman, Abdullahi Haruna, said Ya’u was kidnapped at the PRP Quarters in Kano metropolis by Paul Onwe and his spouse Mercy Paul. He said that the boy was sold to Ebere Ogbodo for ₦200,000 and was given the name Chinedu Ogbodo before his rescue between November 5 and 8 by the command’s anti-kidnapping team of operation puff adder.

Furthermore, Haruna said that the DSS has arrested the matron and 4 others over kidnap of children in Kebbi during the operation where Muhammed Ya’u was successfully rescued after his kidnap in 2014 at PRP Quarters in Kano. He also assured the public that all the suspects have been reprimanded and there is an ongoing investigation to aid in rescuing more children.

According to reports from Legit.ng, the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, charged parents to always take care and full responsibility of their wards to avoid any sort of mishap and he condemned the abduction of children by different associations in Kano State.
