Nigeria is set to host a major cultural event, the African Global Festival Nigeria (AGLOFEST), in the last quarter of 2025.

The festival, spearheaded by Tunde MacAlabi, CEO of T-BYK, in collaboration with the Centre for Black Arts and African Civilisation, aims to celebrate Africa’s rich heritage and foster connections between Africans and the global Black diaspora.

Billed as one of the continent’s most ambitious cultural projects, AGLOFEST will showcase African music, dance, fashion, and creative industry products, positioning Nigeria as a hub for cultural and economic exchange. With a sustainability-driven vision, organizers project that the festival could inject over $20 billion into Nigeria’s economy within five years.

Speaking on the vision behind the festival, Founder and Convener Tunde MacAlabi described AGLOFEST as more than just entertainment.

“AGLOFEST will be a celebration of Black and African unity, strength, and cultural diversity. Scheduled to take place in Abuja, Lagos, and Uyo, our goal is to create a space where Africans and the diaspora can reconnect with their roots, share their stories, and forge partnerships that will drive the continent forward. This is about identity, legacy, and the future of African creativity.”

The festival’s program will feature a Business & Innovation Summit, aimed to discuss Africa’s creative economy, entrepreneurship, and investment opportunities. Other highlights include:

  • Live music and dance performances featuring top African artists and traditional performers.
  • Cultural exhibitions showcasing African artefacts, crafts, and historical treasures.
  • A Fashion & Art Pavilion highlighting African-inspired designs and contemporary artworks.
  • A gastronomy village dedicated to authentic African cuisine from across the continent.

Expected to attract thousands of attendees, AGLOFEST will welcome cultural ambassadors, entrepreneurs, government officials, and international guests. The festival enjoys the backing of the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Creative Economy and Tourism, the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Air Peace Airline. President Bola Tinubu will serve as the Grand Patron and Chief Global Ambassador of the event.

With AGLOFEST 2025 set to take centre stage, Nigeria is poised to reaffirm its position as a global leader in cultural diplomacy and creative enterprise.
