Nigerian media personality and reality TV star Neo Akpofure has added his voice to the ongoing debate about whether men should kneel when proposing to their partners.

Taking to his X handle on Sunday night, Neo made it clear that he has no issue with kneeling to propose to his intended wife. He explained that despite the controversy surrounding the act, it is something he would gladly do.

“If you like, don’t kneel to ask your woman to marry you, that’s for you. I will kneel with happiness and a big smile on my face. And if that bothers you, I pray you don’t heal from that headache it causes you,” he wrote.

His statement quickly ignited conversations online. Some people supported his view, describing kneeling as an act of chivalry and a meaningful part of modern proposals. Others argued that it is unnecessary and not in line with African culture.
