Mrs Obiano Vows To Promote Interest Of Poor Women And Children

First Lady-Anambra State, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano has reiterated that she would continue to promote the interests of women and children, especially the poor via her charity organization, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE.

She revealed this during the sixth anniversary of CAFE while speaking to newsmen at the event. According to her, CAFE remains resolute on advocating a better and secured life for the indigent especially women and children.

It should be pointed out that, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE became a registered charity based organization in August 2014, just a few months after the official first term inauguration of the present administration.

As a matter of fact, the organization since then has built more than 20 houses equipped with running water and power generating devices for poor women and widows, trained more than 4000 women and youths in vast vocational skills, overseen the surgery of children with cleft lips and pallets, rehabilitated the physically, mentally challenged and depressed persons as well as footing the bills of stranded mothers on multiple deliveries at different hospitals across Anambra State among others.

Mrs. Obiano who expressed satisfaction with what her organization has achieved over the past six years also spoke on World Breastfeeding Week, which also falls into the CAFE’s sixth anniversary.

She emphasized that her NGO understands the global necessity for exclusive breastfeeding, hence the support to nursing mothers by the organization to help them achieve the health demands of breastfeeding.
