Mrs Obiano urges all mothers to inculcate strong moral values in their children

Dr Ebelechukwu Obiano, the Wife of the Governor of Anambra State yesterday joined the Women of Aguata Diocese of the Anglican Communion in a special service to mark this year’s Mother’s Sunday.

The Governor’s Wife was represented by the Wife of the Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi South Local Government Area Mrs Adaora Okoye.

While addressing the Women shortly after a Church service at Immanuel Parish Nawfijah in Orumba South Local Government Area, Dr Obiano who is also the founder of the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative CAFÉ charged Mothers to always have equal love for their children.

She regretted the high rate of divorce cases and broken homes in the society blaming them on the lack of knowledge of God.

Dr Obiano reminded Mothers of the importance to maintain their position in the family as teachers by inculcating sound morals on their children.

Welcoming the Governor’s Wife, the President of Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor, stressed the need for proper education of the child especially girls to enable them assert their roles properly as future Mothers.

Mrs Ezeofor commended the Wife of the Governor for series of empowerment Programmes especially as it concerns women including using the CAFÉ initiative to improve the living standards of indigent women and widows calling for the sustenance.

Earlier in a sermon, the Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor charged Mothers to see themselves as societal transformer urging them to make themselves available for God’s work.

Bishop Ezeofor who is also the National Chairman of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion, took advantage of the opportunity to make a strong case for the appointment of more women into key government positions describing them as best managers of resources.

He cautioned the youths against drug abuse and cultism which he noted is destructive.

The service which was conducted by the Wife of the Vicar of Immanuel Parish Nawfijah Mrs Celina Nwafor featured special anthem by members of the Mothers Union, concert by members of the Anglican Children’s Ministry ACM and prayer for the State, Nation, youths and families in distress.
