Dr Ebelechukwu Obiano, wife of the Governor of Anambra State has been awarded by the Mayor of London Borough of Brent, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi for her excellent work and contributions in creating awareness and support to people living with sickle cell anemia and other disabilities, through the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE.
Presenting the award to the governor’s wife who was ably supported by her husband Governor Obiano was the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Ado Ekiti, Most Reverend Felix Femi Ajakaye and the traditional ruler of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Acheb at the Governor’s residence in Aguleri Anambra East Local Government Area .
Mr Ezeajughi stated that Dr Obiano has used CAFÉ to bring medical and emotional solace to those living with the ailment.
It was revealed that the Mayor’s tenure in office came to an end yesterday and he urged the Governor’s wife to sustain her humanitarian projects.
