The Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy has partnered with The Fashion Academy Abuja to announce a call for entries for its prestigious designer training program, part of the Creative Leap Acceleration Program.
The initiative is designed to equip emerging designers, tailors, and creative entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge required to thrive in Nigeria’s growing fashion industry.
The training will focus on Pattern Making and Professional Sewing Techniques as well as Fashion Business and Branding. Participants will receive hands-on training, mentorship, and business development support designed to scale their operations and strengthen Nigeria’s creative economy.
Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy, expressed enthusiasm about the program. She noted that the collaboration would help build a skilled workforce and position Nigeria as a hub for fashion innovation in Africa.
“Our creative industry holds immense potential, and this collaboration with The Fashion Academy Abuja is a bold step towards building a skilled workforce and positioning Nigeria as a leader in fashion innovation across Africa,” she said.
Nina Kwande, Director of The Fashion Academy Abuja, praised the partnership for its potential to nurture talent and foster entrepreneurship. “We are excited to work with the Ministry to nurture talent, foster entrepreneurship, and provide access to industry-ready training that truly makes a difference,” she said.
