The air is already stirring with excitement as Lagos prepares to host one of Africa’s most colourful lifestyle events. On November 30, 2025, the Margarita Festival Africa will return for its 10th anniversary celebration, promising a fusion of flavour, culture, and creativity.
What began as a simple cocktail gathering has transformed into a cultural experience that brings people together through food, music, art, and community.
Since its debut, the festival has grown beyond expectations. It started in Lagos but has since expanded its footprint to Abuja, Accra, and Abidjan, with special editions like Margarita Day and Cinco de Mayo drawing thousands of enthusiasts. Each edition has pushed boundaries, blending Latin-inspired experiences with African energy and innovation.
This year’s event will be no different. Attendees can expect live music, circus acts, cultural showcases, and more than 15 margarita flavours from top mixologists. There will also be a tequila exhibition and the return of the fan-favourite Margalympics, a cocktail competition that brings out the best of creativity and showmanship. Before the main event, judges will tour Lagos to sample drinks from nominated bars and restaurants, with finalists taking the stage for a live showdown where the audience also gets to vote.
Speaking ahead of the festival, Founder and Convener Wendz Connoisseur described MFAF as more than a party. “Margarita Festival Africa is more than an event; it is a community, a celebration of culture, and a testament to how cocktails can bring people together. As we celebrate our 10th edition, we are excited to showcase the magic of Lagos while reinforcing Nigeria’s place as a cultural and tourism hub in Africa,” she said.
Over 1,500 guests are expected to attend this year’s edition, including cocktail lovers, food enthusiasts, creatives, and tourists from across the continent. But the festival’s impact goes beyond entertainment. Through its LimeFolk Initiative, MFAF continues to give back by providing school kits for children of hospitality workers and supporting bartenders through training and grants.
As the countdown begins, anticipation is building. The Margarita Festival Africa has become more than an annual event. It is a symbol of connection, flavour, and the shared joy of celebration, and this 10th edition is shaping up to be its most unforgettable yet.
