The Federal Government has announced a series of events to celebrate this year’s Democracy Day. Abdulhakeem Adeoye, representing the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, shared the details in a notice issued on Sunday.

The festivities will begin on Tuesday, June 11, with a symposium at the State House Conference Centre in the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The event will start at 9:00 a.m. and is expected to set the stage for the celebrations with insightful discussions on democracy.

Following the symposium, a youth conference will be held at Ladi Kwali Hall in the Abuja Continental Hotel. Scheduled for 6:00 p.m., this conference aims to engage young people in significant conversations about their role in sustaining and enhancing democratic values.

On Wednesday, June 12, the celebrations will feature a grand parade at Eagle Square, Abuja, beginning at 8:00 a.m. This parade is anticipated to be a major highlight, showcasing the nation’s commitment to democratic principles.

The day will conclude with a dinner at the State House Banquet Hall in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, at 6:00 p.m., providing a ceremonial end to the Democracy Day events.

According to the notice, only accredited Villa correspondents will be granted access to cover the events at the Presidential Villa. Further updates will be provided as the celebration approaches.
