Afrobeats singer Wizkid, whose real name is Ayo Balogun, recently revealed that if he hadn’t chosen a career in music, he might have become a footballer. Reflecting on his early years, he shared that he played for his school’s football team. However, his impatience and dislike for early mornings ultimately steered him away from pursuing football as a career.

In an interview shared by @itzbasito on X, Wizkid discussed his close connections with professional football players. While they often enjoy partying together, he noted that his friends maintain a disciplined lifestyle—they avoid smoking and drinking because they need to wake up at 6 a.m. for training. Wizkid expressed his admiration for their dedication to their craft.

Additionally, Wizkid mentioned that he doesn’t travel with bodyguards, emphasizing that he views his management team as family. He particularly highlighted his relationship with his manager, Sunday Are, describing him as a father figure who has played a significant role in his life.
