Popular Nigerian broadcaster, Rufai Oseni, has voiced out concerning the viral video of him threatening to call the state Governor on a police officer in Lagos state.
Oseni tweeted on Sunday that a policeman pointed a gun at him and forcefully disposed of his car because he was caught illegally driving through a land dedicated to the Bus Rapid Transport in Lagos.

He took to Instagram on Tuesday to explain his ordeal. He stated that he was in an unfamiliar environment, and was not aware that was a BRT lane.
Oseni said:
“Two cars passed that same route, and even after I was halted, more cars kept going through the route and the police officers let them go.”
I told them to let me pay for the traffic infraction I committed and go, but a police officer pointed a gun at me

I called my friend who owns the car in the video. I don’t own the Lexus car in the video, and he sent police escorts to come and pick me up. When the police escorts got there I had been brutalized, my car had been taken off me.
I was upset and I did go to the police officer because he had thrown tantrums and said, ‘do your worst’. And I said I’d call the Governor. And I have the right to say I’d call the Governor who is the Chief Security Officer of the state.”
Apologizing for using expletives while speaking to the officers, Rufai also faulted the persons behind the video for not including the behavior of the police officers that led to him being upset.
“The only part I apologize for was when I used expletives ‘bleeding bustards’. I apologize for that. But I’ll call the Governor. I have every right to say that. And I said it.
That’s what is being circulated in the video. But they did not record the part where they drove my car off and forcefully took my keys off. They didn’t record other parts of this video.
You can ask the first PRO, a great man, Ben Hundeyin. We had our back and forth but we settled things. In fact, he was surprised that another video was leaked to this event and he wasn’t happy about it,” he said.
