The August General meeting of the Onitsha Anglican Women Association, (OAWA) which held from the 14th of August through to the 16th was a huge success.
The first day featured skill acquisition and exhibition by villages in Onitsha. The second day was characterized by a presidential address by Dr. Amala Odita, the President of Immanuel Anglican Church. Also, there was village march pass.
The third day featured the Thanksgiving service and cutting of cake. The convergence was indeed interesting and fun as the participants were all happy.
According to a member of the Onithsa Anglican Women’s Association, “It is really great and marvellous and is the lord’s doing, this year’s August meeting is one of the successful meeting despite the COVID -19. Thank God for His blessings”. Another member went on to thank Dr. Odita, EXCO members and all the participants for the success of the meeting and prayed that God gives her more wisdom to continue in His service.
Furthermore, at the meeting, some key things were mentioned as ways to move the agenda of the OAWA further. They include; Mass return of all indigens at Christmas, city wide crusade: Onitsha made and skill acquisition and youth employment.
Also, they called for assistance in terms of conducting grassroot mobilization for all home, abroad and diaspora members of which the criteria is; such individual must be Onitsha by birth or marriage.
