Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo state has reacted to the recent attack on an INEC office in Imo state.
The governor who visited the scene of the attack condemned the barbaric act and also commended the Nigerian security operatives who conquered three of the attackers and while two were captured.
Speaking on the incident, Governor Hope Uzodinma said, “The 2023 election must hold, they want to win the election, but they don’t want the election to take place. How then can they win the election if the election doesn’t take place?”
“The INEC doesn’t have to face all these problems, they don’t need all this stress,” he added.
The governor however assured that the 2023 election must hold despite the destruction of INEC offices in some parts of the country.
An INEC staff who was present during the attack said that no PVCs were taken during the incident.
