Chief Willie Obiano, Anambra State Governor, has assured making the security of lives and property of ndi Anambra a top priority.
The Governor gave this assurance when he paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
According to the Governor who reiterated his foresightedness about the dividends of internal security, said that it drove him to make it his number one enabler, stressing that it has transcended into influx of investment opportunities into the state, thereby increasing the IGR.
He applauded the president for appointing IGP Baba and wished him well in his new assignment, especially during the present challenging period in the country.
Having gone through the rank and file of the force, IGP Baba had in the immediate past, acted as DIG in charge of Finance and Administration and at some point served as Force secretary.
The acting IGP is due for retirement in 2023, he took over from Mohammed Adamu whose tenure ended in February but was extended by Mr Buhari on February 4, 2021.
