WHO IS CHIKE?
Chike-Ezekpeazu Osebuka popularly known by his stage name, Chike is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and actor who is popularly known as the first runner-up of the season one of The Voice Nigeria. Inlandtown proudly features things you never knew about Chike, the Anambra state born singer who is from Onitsha and has dynamically featured in his music the unique cultural and traditional elements that project his identity as an Igbo man. Wasn’t it delightful seeing Chike dressed in the Isiagu top and his Igbo leopard cap?
GROWING UP
Growing up in Abuja – foreign affairs quarters, zone VI, Chike’s father worked with the government. From a family of musically talented children, the Nakupenda crooner is one of four children born to the Osebuka family and since music runs in the family, his three brothers were part of the church choir, joined and took advantage of every platform they got to showcase their voices. He noted that in his hometown his aunts could sing and were in bands. While in high school, he won an award as the vocalist of the year. Although, he did not take his talent seriously until gaining admission into Covenant University, yet this influenced his passion to pursue a career in Music.

JOURNEY INTO MUSIC
The journey was not void of its ups and downs as he was eliminated after reaching the Top 10 on the Nigerian reality competition Project Fame West Africa in 2015. However, all hope was not lost as his attempt a second time on the platform of The Voice Nigeria, earned a first runner-up spot, opening doors to many opportunities that have been instrumental to his success in the music industry.

HE IS A GRADUATE OF COVENANT UNIVERSITY
Chike attended and graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering from Covenant University. As earlier stated, this is where he took his music career seriously.
HE IS AN ACTOR
Aside music, Chike is also a fantastic actor. Debuting on the Africa Magic Showcase telenovela Battleground as Mayowa Badmus, Chike has become the delight of many fans who enjoy seeing him on screen. In April 2017, Africa Magic confirmed Chike would be taking the role of Mayowa Badmus a rich egocentric spoilt but clever son of the patriarch, Kolade Badmus in a new Family drama in the series. CELEBRITIES PROPHESIED HE WOULD BE A STAR
While on The Voice Nigeria Show, Chike started with the blind auditions singing James Arthur’s “Roses” and his voice would capture all four judges on the show who all turned their chairs to see who the charming singer was. Waje described his voice as simply unique while Patoranking described him as a star. He was an ambassador for Airtel Nigeria
Today, Chike has grown from just a show winner to an authentic star with hit records to his name. His latest album, titled “Boo of the Boo less”, features 14 entertaining songs becoming the most listened and number 1 album on on 19th February 2020. Some fantastic songs that the talented Chike has released are; Fancy U, Nakupenda.
