The former President of the United States, Bill Clinton was admitted into a hospital in California to be treated for an infection which spread to his bloodstream. He was in California for a public appearance when he felt ill and was checked into the UC Irvine Medical Centre.

The Chair at UC Irvine Medical Centre, Dr. Alpesh Amin and the former president’s primary physician issued a joint statement together disclosing that Bill Clinton was admitted to the ICU for close monitoring and was placed on IV antibiotics and fluids. They also disclosed that Bill Clinton was in ICU for privacy and safety and not because he needs intensive care.

On Sunday, the former President walked out of the hospital accompanied by his wife, Hillary Clinton, and some doctors. A statement issued by Dr. Alpesh Amin which was provided by Bill Clinton’s Spokesman read, “Bill Clinton discharged today, his fever and white blood counts are normalized and he will return home to New York to finish his course of antibiotics, on behalf of everyone at UC Irvine Medical Centre, we were honoured to have treated him and we will continue to monitor his progress.”
