The former Minister of Aviation, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode has has defected to All Progressives Congress from the Peoples Democratic Party. Mr Fani-Kayode left PDP and on Thursday visited the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Mr Fani-kayode was a member of PDP until 2013 when he defected to APC and returned to PDP in June 2014. Following speculations in the past week that he would defect to APC, Mr Fani-kayode, consistently denied the speculations. Speaking with journalists at the villa after his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr Fani-kayode he beleived it was time to join hands with the president in moving Nigeria forward.
” The point is that I felt it was time to do the right thing, to put Nigeria first and appreciate the efforts that have been made, particularly in the last couple of years in terms of security, fighting, insurgency and terrorism.”
Mr Fani-kayode urged Nigerians to remain faithful to preserve the country from those who want to destroy it.
