The Felabration 2022 event themed: “Fear not for man” hosted by the Kuti family was an almagamation of music, arts and culture from across Africa culminating in an exhilirating and eventful week. 

It began on Monday, 10th of October 2022 with a Jazz and Soul concert at the Felabration primary venue; the New Afrika Shrine at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos state. The concert had beautiful performances from various artists like: JesutomiImole, BalogunEko, Brass, BandUche, Obi Drums, Amphitheater and more.

The event continued on Tuesday and was tagged “Old School Evergreen”. The event had many old school artistes perform to the ever enthusiastic audience. The artist that performed include: Star Kids Dance Academy, Gboyega Adelaja, Poskii, Wura Samba, Baba Ani, Prince Ej Orlando Jnr, Amphitheater and SPAN Academy of Jazz & Contemporary Music

Apart from the musical concerts, there have also been a series of other activities such as an art competition where the winner took home a whopping sum of N500,000 as prize money, a dance competition where the winners took home N1,000,000, and even a symposium.

The Symposium was themed: “Election 2023: Action time” and some of the keynote speakers were; the Bishop of the Sokoto diocese of the Catholic church, Bishop Matthew Kukah; the spokesman for the Northern Elders forum, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed; former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, and media entrepreneur Kadaria Ahmed.

There were other notable attendees of the symposium like legendary Nigerian musician Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa popularly known as Charly Boy and renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria and human rights activist Femi Falana.

Some of the artistes that performed include; Ladipoe, Crayon, Omawumi, Yowa, Eltee Skillz, Made Kuti, Nasty C, Ice Prince, Olakira, Spyro, Victor AD, and many more

The Felabration came to an end yesterday, 16th October 2022 and lived up to every single expectation of raw energy and pure vibes. The originality of Fela’s style was very evident in every single activity that took place for the duration of the event.
