The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved October 12th as the official date for the re-opening of the 104 Unity schools in the country.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu during a press briefing in Abuja.
It will be recalled that schools had been shut down since March, owing to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. However, the Minister instructed all institutions to obey and adhere to the guidelines for the reopening of schools, earlier announced by the presidential task force.
Adamu also announced that private and state schools will determine their own modalities of reopening.
