Three weeks ago, Uzochukwu, the son of well-known Igbo businessman Chief I.K.B. Igboanugo, the founder of I.K.B Industries Limited, tragically lost his life in a car accident while driving home from work. The grieving father, confirming the incident in a heartfelt Facebook post on Monday, May 13, 2024, shared that a drunk driver, who had fallen asleep at the wheel while speeding on the highway, collided with his son’s car.

Chief Igboanugo described his son as a vibrant and loving individual, highlighting his positive qualities of happiness, intelligence, friendliness, care, and love. Despite Chief Igboanugo’s persistent urging for Uzochukwu to get married, he acknowledged that his son actively pursued his career as an Ophthalmologist in America.

Expressing the profound grief and trauma he and his wife have been experiencing since the loss, Chief Igboanugo emphasized the devastating impact of losing a child, urging parents to cherish and pray for their children regardless of their behavior.

He concluded by reflecting on Uzochukwu’s early departure, finding solace in the belief that his son is now resting peacefully in God’s embrace, working for Him in a higher realm.
