Manchester City’s Norwegian goal-scoring machine Erling Haaland has settled into the Premier League quite comfortably and his insane pay revealed.

In the summer Manchester City got one of the best bargains of all time, signing Norwegian international Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund for just £51 million.

The striker had been regarded as one of the best in world football at such a young age so there was a fight to get him, however due to the fact his dad, Alfie Haaland, played for City the 22-year-old ended up at The Etihad.

City pulled off a major coup by signing the highly-rated striker, triggering the £51m release clause in his contract at Dortmund – fending off competition from the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona in the process. There has been lots of conversation about how much his agents’ fees and salary has been due to how little the transfer fee was considering how good he was for Borussia Dortmund.

Still though with how well he has started at City with 19 goals in 12 games it has backed up the narrative that the Premier League Champions have got one of the bargains of all time which has ended up meaning there has been even more debate with how much he cost overall.

According to the Daily Mail, Haaland earns almost £900k per week at Man city. Although it is said he receives a “basic salary in line with other high earners”, he is set to earn a series of bonuses that will bump his salary over £850k.

Haaland is under contract with City until 2027 but the Premier League club could struggle to keep hold of the Norwegian striker for the duration of his contract. Haaland reportedly has a release clause in his deal with City which could allow another club to poach him in the future. There was also a release clause in his contract whilst he was at the German side.

City boss Pep Guardiola will be hoping to hang on to Haaland for as long as possible. Earlier this week, he described the striker as the best young player on the planet. “At his age, no one can compete with him. No one,” said Guardiola. “The numbers speak for themselves.”
