Empowerment Of People With Disabilities – Soludo Lauds Obiano

Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor,  has commended Governor Willie Obiano for accommodating persons  with disabilities in his administration’s policies and programmes.

Professor Soludo stated this when he and his team paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Governor on Disability Matters in Awka. He praised the Office of the Governor on Disability Matters for their responsiveness in all the issues concerning their members in the State, eulogized Governor Obiano for paying prompt attention to issues affecting persons living with disabilities and making them feel included in his government’s policies and programmes.

Earlier in a welcome remark, the Special Adviser to Governor Obiano on Disability Matters, Barrister Chuks Ezewuzie appreciated Professor Soludo for identifying with their members and revealed that there are over six hundred thousand persons living with disabilities in Anambra state.

Barrister Ezewuzie said that the inclusiveness of Governor Obiano’s administration is gaining recognition by all Ndị Anambra and made it clear that Governor Obiano has set a high standard in promoting and protecting the rights of persons living with disabilities in the Anambra State. He also noted that Office of the Governor on Disability Matters and Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities JONAPWD Anambra state Chapter, are working assiduously with the Independent Natiional Electoral Commission to quadruple the statistics of voters with disability in the state.

Present during the courtesy call were, the Anambra state Commissioner for Public Utilities and Water Resources, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne, the member representing Njikoka two Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Honourable Pete Ibida, among others.
