The countdown to Eko Fiesta 2025 is on, and plans are already in motion to deliver an unforgettable cultural and entertainment experience this December.

On Tuesday, the Lagos State Government, through the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, hosted the Project Manager of Eko Fiesta, Akinpelumi Deborah, and her team from Dosh and Wales Company for a strategic session aimed at shaping the event into a major tourism and economic driver.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Aregbe stressed the power of entertainment to influence growth, drive youth engagement, and position Lagos as Africa’s number one tourism destination.

“If we cannot use entertainment to improve commerce, then it shows we are not fully harnessing what we have,” he said. “Entertainment remains a key tool to drive prosperity and inspire youth participation in sustainable development. Through initiatives like Eko Fiesta, we can promote culture, boost tourism, and support local businesses.”

He applauded the bold vision of the Eko Fiesta team and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to partnering with initiatives that align with Lagos’ tourism goals.

“We want to work with committed partners who can contribute meaningfully to the Lagos story. Let us ensure that the spirit of United Lagos, through commerce, culture, and celebration, remains at the heart of this initiative,” he added.

Responding, Akinpelumi Deborah described Eko Fiesta as a transformative project set to redefine the festive experience in Lagos. With the theme *From Festivity to Prosperity*, she revealed that the three-day event will bring together over 10,000 attendees and feature more than 120 vendors.

“Our goal is to create what Afro Nation is to Ghana and what Coachella is to California, a truly African celebration rooted in Lagos,” she said.

Eko Fiesta 2025 will host an exciting mix of top-tier musicians, comedians, MCs, and cultural performers. A special Post-Fiesta Gala Night is also planned for December—a black-tie event for sponsors, dignitaries, and key stakeholders to celebrate the event’s impact.

Deborah outlined the event’s core objectives: attracting foreign direct investment for youth empowerment, promoting Lagos as Africa’s festive capital, connecting local businesses to global opportunities, and expanding CSR-driven economic growth.

All eyes are now on December as Lagos prepares to light up with culture, music, and commerce like never before.
