Following a court order issued, the Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority, ECTDA recently demolished the residence of Architect John Emejulu.

The demolished residential property was situated along Eziokwe street, off Nike Lake road, Trans Ekulu, Enugu.

According to Dr. Josef Onoh, the Chairman of ECTDA who addressed newsmen at the site of the demolition, he stated that his agency had obtained court order to carry out the exercise. In addition, the property stood on water way thus, needed to give way.

It should be pointed out that Architect John Emejulu had demolished about one kilometre perimeter fence of Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu. Conversely, Dr. Onoh emphasized on the fact that the action was not in reprisal to Emejulu’s demolition of the airport fence being constructed as part of the airport rehabilitation.

Interestingly, Emejulu had on Wednesday executed an order of court at the disputed airport land to take back his 400 plots he said he bought from Nike Community in 2008.

Meanwhile, Hadi Sirika , Minister for Aviation, who visited the airport demolition on Thursday, had threatened to deal with Emejulu for destroying Federation government asset.

As at this moment, Emejulu is still to be found after demolition of the airport perimeter fence.
