The wife of the former Anambra State Governor, Mrs Ebele Obiano recently declared her intention to contest for the Anambra North Senatorial seat under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2023 general elections.
This plan seems to have hit a snag now as a familiar face has emerged as one of her opponents.
Mr Primus Odili, a former chief of staff to her husband, Willie Obiano during his time as Governor has thrown his name in the hat for the same senatorial seat. Odili also plans to run under the APGA party, making this a very interesting development.

He declared his intention at the Otuocha Local Government Area headquarters in Aguleri, on Tuesday. He added that he planned to break the jinx of APGA’s inability to produce a senator from the district.
While speaking, he reiterated that his intention to contest the senatorial seat was not a sign of disloyalty to Obiano. According to him, it was for the overall interest of the people of the area and APGA. He solicited the full support of Ndi Anambra North senatorial zone while assuring them of a positive and responsive representation in the Red Chambers if elected.
The duo will be contesting the seat against the sitting senator, Chief Stella Oduah, who had also declared her intention to recontest on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
