Commissioner for Transport in Anambra State, Mr Christian Madubuko has kicked against all forms of illegal issuing of tickets to commercial vehicle drivers in Motor Parks across the state. He also confirmed the set-up of Anti-Touting Units by the Ministry in conjunction with Transport Committee to impose submission.
Mr Madubuko made this announcement during familiarization meeting with Park Managers and Transport Committee held at the Conference Hall, Office of the Secretary to State Government, Awka, and he mentioned a need to make the consistent improvement in the parks to make outstanding and meet international standard. He added that there will be a penalty given by the enforcement agency to any defaulter of the law.
Mr Oscar Akabueze the Park Manager and Chairman, Transport Committee, in his address mentioned the plans of introducing methods to get biometric data information for planning and implementation purposes by the state government.
Mr Albert Okechukwu Ibekwe, a park owner, promised on behalf of park managers to obey government’s demands and guaranteed their parks orderliness for enforcement.
Officers from Civil Defence Corps, the Police and the Directorate of State Services (DSS) made up the committee.
