As the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic continues vis-a-vis adjusting to the new normal, the Anambra State government has approved September 7 as the official date for schools in the state to resume.
This comes off following the deliberation between the Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, and members of the Executive council.
As a matter of fact, the Ministry of Basic Education acting upon the approval has released the approved time table for the completion of the 2019/2020 Academic session Nd also the schedule for the state examinations.
Junior Secondary Schools will resume on Monday, 7th September 2020 while those in boarding are to resume the weekend before the scheduled date; as contained in the release signed by Mr. Nwabueze Nwankwor, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic Education.
Furthermore, 3rd term 2019/2020 Academic session for both primary and secondary schools will commence on Monday, 14th September 2020 to end on 23rd October 2020 while boarders are expected to return the weekend before the date.
Since the third term is quite short the schools have been urged to make maximum use of the time as was the case when students were taught at home through various e-platforms including the Anambra State Teaching on Air.
Parents on their part have also been urged to make provision for hand sanitizers and face masks for their wards.
