The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) officially opened submissions today for its upcoming 46th edition, scheduled to run from November 12 to 21, 2025.
Filmmakers worldwide can now submit their works through the festival’s official website until August 1, 2025, with an early bird submission window available until May 31.
“We are pleased to announce the opening of submissions for the 46th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival. We look forward to receiving fresh and diverse films that reflect unique cinematic perspectives and a wide range of cultures,” said Festival President Hussein Fahmy. “We believe cinema is a universal language, and the festival remains a vital platform for artistic exchange and creative dialogue between filmmakers and audiences.”
According to Artistic Director Mohamed Tarek, preparations for the upcoming edition began early to ensure a distinctive festival experience. “Each year, submissions reveal exceptional talents, cinematic discoveries, and promising new voices from around the world,” Tarek noted.
Established in 1976, CIFF is recognised as one of the most prestigious film festivals in the Arab region and across Africa. It holds a Category A accreditation and is the only festival in the Arab world and Africa officially recognised by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).
