As expected, the former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has now officially declared his intention to run for the office of the president.
Saraki, also a former of Governor of Kwara state announced his intentions on Thursday morning. He stated that next year’s election presents Nigerians with an important opportunity to choose hope over hopelessness.
A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bukola Saraki would be going up against the likes of a former Presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar, former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State and many others for the party’s ticket.
Speaking to media, Saraki said
“This is not the time to surrender while in despair. We must rise above the division that keeps us apart.”
“This is the moment we must put everything apart to save the country. This is not the country we want nor the country our founding fathers envisioned.”

He took to Twitter to also announce his intention.

The PDP presidential primary is set to hold on May 28 – 29, 2022.
