An official of the National Examinations Council (NECO) Mr. Vincent Odinko, was on Friday, November 4, shot dead by suspected armed robbers who invaded the University of Ibadan staff quarters.
It was gathered that the gunmen broke into the boys quarters (BQ) of a staff building where Mr. Vincent lived with his family and shot him dead. He was said to be working on his laptop when the armed robbers broke into his home carting away his laptop and the phones of all the occupants of the house.
The deceased was a worker in the SSCE Internal Unit of NECO, Ibadan branch, while his wife is said to be a UI staff member.
The police are yet to give details of the sad incident. However, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, said investigations had commenced to unravel the true details of the unfortunate incident.
