Record breaking movie, King of Thieves is seemingly heading to Amazon Prime.
The star studded movie became the first Indigenous movie in Nollywood history to cross the N300million mark in domestic sales.
Now, the epic tale is heading to streaming giant, Amazon. In an interview with Shock NG, producer Niyi Akinmolayan confirmed that King of Thieves would begin streaming on Amazon prime video once it’s done in theatres across the country. Apparently, this is part of a licensing deal signed between Anthill studios and Amazon. This deal would see Nollywood titles produced by the studio go straight to the streaming giant after the cinemas.
An official debut date is yet to be confirmed.
King of Thieves is now the biggest grossing movie in 2022 and the fifth highest grossing movie in Nollywood history. The rest of the top five include Omo Ghetto (The Saga) with ₦636.1 million, The Wedding Party with ₦453 million, The Wedding Party 2 with ₦433 million and Chief Daddy with ₦387.4 million.
