As the countdown to 2025 begins, Kenya’s iconic Beneath The Baobabs Festival reveals its first 30 acts, offering a glimpse of what promises to be an unforgettable New Year celebration.
Set in the enchanting Baobab Forest of Kilifi, the festival spans two days and nights, with performances across five immersive stages nestled in the heart of this pristine forest. Celebrating its 10th year of bringing contemporary Kenyan music, art, and dance to the world, Beneath The Baobabs has firmly established itself as Kenya’s most diverse New Year’s celebration.
Over the past decade, the festival has become one of East Africa’s most anticipated events, showcasing a dynamic blend of local and international talent. This year, the festival promises to be bigger than ever, with headliners from East and South Africa, alongside a spotlight on Mijikenda and Swahili artists.
The lineup features a stellar mix of electronic music, hip hop, Afrobeats, and more, with a selection of acts that continue to shape the global music landscape.
Notable international headliners include South African amapiano legend Vigro Deep, the pioneer of Kenyan alternative music Blinky Bill, and Uganda’s electrifying Kampire. The festival kicks off with South African superstar Desiree and an exclusive MMINO takeover, setting the tone for an unforgettable celebration.
As the clock strikes midnight, Emmanuel Jal from South Sudan will bring the crowd into the New Year with a vibrant Afro-house performance, joined by live dancers and musicians.
