ANSG Partners NCDC To Train Healthcare Workers On COVID-19 Prevention

In a bid to equip healthcare workers, safe burial teams and ambulance drivers in the state; with knowledge on how to protect themselves against the virus when discharging their duties, the Anambra state government in collaboration with Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has organized a training on Corona virus prevention.

The trainees were tutored on various topics such as active case search contact tracing, sample collection, Covid-19 surveillance, prompt and complete reporting of cases, data collection and documentation, among others.

During the course of the training, Dr. Kenneth Nwokolo, the NCDC Focal Person on Infection Prevention and Corporate Control Anambra state, Dr Kenneth Nwokolo and Lab Focal Person on Covid-19 Anambra state, Mr. Chris Ideh admonished the health workers to make safety a priority; in that once they get infected with the virus,their family members and the entire society are in danger.

Furthermore, they reiterated the need for them to always adhere strictly to Covid-19 safety protocols especially proper wearing of face masks, face shield, hand-glove, and overall wear when coming in contact with any patient, and to properly wash their hands and apply sanitizer after handling patients.

On their part,Ā  Mr. Chukwudubem Chukwujekwu who is in charge of Anambra state Covid-19 burial, and a Lab Scientist working with the Anambra state Ministry of Health, Lady Adaorah Ifediata stated thatĀ  the training has widened their knowledge on how to guard themselves against Covid-19, and assured to step down the knowledge garnered to the grass root for the safety of all.
