Anambra State Restates Resolve To Promote Healthy Living Among Ndi Anambra

In line with the need to promote healthy living among Ndi Anambra, the Anambra state government on the occasion of Nigeria’s 60th anniversary has restated that the free Medical outreach and Health awareness programme is one of its public-private partnership programmes.

This was made known by Dr. Vincent Okpala, the Commissioner for Health at the outreach programme which took place at Orumba General Hospital, Ajalli in Orumba North Local Government Area.

The medical outreach which is geared towards developing rural health care system in the state was instigated by Dr. Emeka Okeke of RISE Clinic and Dr Dube Onyejiaka, the Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Business Collision, and is in collaboration with the State Government.
The free Medical outreach and Health awareness program which is in commemoration of the 60th Independence Day of Nigeria had in attendance traditional rulers, members of the state House of Assembly, Transition Committee Chairmen of Orumba North, South and Aguata Council Area , youths and the elderly among others.

According to Vincent Okpala who spoke immediately after a tour of the facilities at the General Hospital stated that the modern hospital equipment in the health center is as a result of initiatives of Governor Willie Obiano to involve private institutions through public private partnerships to boost the health care system in the State.

He also expressed satisfaction that meaning individuals in the state are concerned by the need to take care of fellow Nigerians.

On their part, Dr Okeke of RISE Clinic and Dr. Onyejiaka, of Anambra Business Coalition noted that they were buoyed by the desire to ensure that all General Hospitals in the state function optimally to ensure that all communities have access to good healthcare service delivery. In fact, the Orumba General Hospital has now been equipped to handle any health related cases.
For the Members representing Orumba North and South in the state House of Assembly Honourable Emeka Afoka and Emma Nwafor, applauded the choice of celebrating Nigeria at 60 with the health outreach and assured to drive the message of regular health check-up to their constituents .

Other speakers at the event include, the Anambra state Commissioner for Housing, Architect Mike Okonkwo, the Transition Committee Chairman of Aguata, Dr Eche Ezibe and the Senior Special Assistant to Anambra state Governor on Health Insurance and Pension Matters, Mr. Dozie Okpalaugo
