Anambra state among-st the 11 states that sent a delegation to the 7th edition of Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) holding in Yokohama Japan.
The conference attracted Africa’s best and brightest, bringing about 60 African heads of the states. The Nigerian president, Gen Muhamadu Buhari presented a paper earlier today during the plenary session Co-mod-rated by the South African president, Cyril Ramaphosa and the Prime minister of Japan,Shinazo Abe.
Anambra’s delegation was led by the Commisioner for Economic Planning Budget and Development Partners, Mr Mark Okoye II. Okoye was accompanied by Mr Jide Ikeako, Managing Director / CEO of Anambra Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA) and Mr James Eze, Chief press secretary to the Governor.
The conference attracted leading development thinkers and change agents in Africa. Prominent among the Nigerian delegation to the conference are Mrs Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, former minister of Finance and Chair of Gavi Vaccine Fund, Mr Tony Elumelu, Chairman Tony Elumelu Foundation and Dr Akinwunmi Adesina, President of African Development Bank.
The conference explore themes on African’s development and Vehicles through which Africa’s development goals can be achieved.
