In furtherance of his developmental plans for Anambra state, Governor Willie Obiano has revealed that he will deliver three legacy projects to Ndi Anambra in 2021.
These legacy projects include the Anambra Airport at Umueri, the International Conference Center ICC in Awka, and the Capital City Stadium in Awka.
According to C. Don Adinuba, the State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, these projects are a means by which Governor Obiano wants the people to remember him.
In terms of the duration for these projects, he noted thatĀ the Anambra Airport would be commissioned by April or May 2021, while the ICC with a capacity of 10,000 people and the Stadium would be commissioned before June 2021.
Furthermore, Adinuba stated that although there has been a paucity of funds, it hasn’t stopped work from going on in these three legacy projects,24 hours each day including Saturdays and Sundays.Ā  In his words: ā€œthe Obiano administration has done well for Ndi Anambra since its inception and these projects are very important”.
Speaking on the reason why the State Government is building the Airport with State funds instead of the earlier arrangement with the Chinese company, Adinuba stated simply that the agreement did not work out as planned.
Rounding off, he assured that Governor Obiano is doing his best possible to ensure that these legacy projects are delivered on time to Ndi Anambra before his tenure expires.
