Dr Vincent Okpala, the Anambra State Commissioner for Health commended a team of researchers on Social Innovation in Health, SIHI, from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, whose finding he said, would serve as a solution to the state health sector.
Dr Okpala described the innovation as borderless and went further to encourage them to make sure that the innovations go beyond Nigeria which would make the state proud of such an achievement.
He made a statement confirming that their innovation would produce results and solve the problems in the health sector through the use of technology.
Commissioner Okpala emphasized that learning should not be only based on theories, counseling the students to take advantage of new technology to assist in solving problems in the society.
The Vice-Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Charles Esimone, who spoke through the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Professor Joseph Ikechebelu, assured the group that they have his backing and support, encouraging them not to give up on their efforts and keep working hard to eventually lead to a breakthrough in the health sector in Nigeria and abroad.
